Belly Dance

Zhanna is a dazzling performing artist and teacher who has a true gift when it comes to the art of belly dance. Zhanna has been a dedicated student and performer of many styles of dance for 14 years. She has a background in Russian, Armenian, and Greek folk dancing, as well as flamenco, cabaret, and hip-hop dance. This diverse background has given Zhanna a bellydance style that is uniquely her own and an impeccable understanding of the body and its movement capabilities. When Zhanna performs, she is best recognized for her aliveness, electricity, spice, sensuality and elegance. Through belly dance, Zhanna learned to accept what she calls her "jiggle" and has grown to truly love her body, love herself, and connect with her sensuality. She calls on women all over the world to do the same. To experience a taste of Zhanna, she is based in Los Angeles and is available for hire for such functions as Weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Festivals, Birthdays, Music Videos, Themed Middle Eastern Parties, Cultural Events, Bachelorette Parties, Charity Functions, Parades, Bridal Showers, Corporate Events, Office Parties, and more! Zhanna joined Negma Dance Company in September 2011 and worked her way up to principal dancer of the company. Zhanna contributes her unique gifts and talents to the company and performs with the company at many private and public shows in the Los Angeles community. Zhanna performs many styles of dance under the Direction of Company Director Olga Kramarova also known as Shamiram. The styles of dance include Egyptian belly dancing, tabla solos, Persian dancing, Latin medleys, Flamenco, Bollywood, samba, and many more styles.
Tribal Belly Dance
Join us for an ab-defining, low-impact workout. We’ll warm-up with isolations, stretches and a few movement breakdowns; then piece steps together to build a routine. While you’ll practice authentic belly dance moves, the focus is staying in motion rather than perfecting technique. You won’t get your heart rate quite as high as some of our other programs, but you will challenge both your mind and your muscle control in this hour-long experience.
Work on your balance and flexibility while burning calories in this sensual class. You’ll warm-up with isolations and movement breakdowns. By the end of class, you’ll have learned a short routine.
